LEESBURG, VA…May 21, 2008 – K2M, Inc., the spinal device company developing innovative and simplified solutions for the treatment of complex spinal pathologies and procedures, today announced that its ASCEND program hosted the 3rd Annual Meeting of ‘Controversies in Contemporary Spine Surgery’ on Saturday, May 17th at the JW Marriot Hotel in Washington, D.C. The one day symposium was designed for physicians practicing in neurosurgery and orthopaedic surgery from across the United States.

intellyst® Medical Communications, an accredited provider of continuing medical education (CME), designated this educational activity for up to 3.5 AMA PRA Category 1 credits for attending physicians. The presenters addressed the benefits and pitfalls of spinal motion technology, fusionless scoliosis options, lumbar arthroplasty outcomes, nucleus pulposus replacements and translational research efforts in spinal cord injury, disk regeneration, and image guided surgery.
