The Leesburg, Virginia, headquarters of K2M, Inc., is getting bigger to make room for a new conference/training amphitheater.

The company is adding 13,000 square feet to its existing 36,000 square feet to accommodate the new amphitheater as well as increased office space.

“With over an acre under roof, this expansion marks another milestone for the company,” said K2M’s President and CEO, Eric Major. “In addition to the increased office space, the amphitheatre is a key component of our commitment to training, education and innovation related to the spine technology arena.”

The company said the new amphitheatre will provide an area for surgeons to collaborate with biomechanical engineers and the company’s product development team. It will also be used for surgeon, employee, sales agent, and international training.

K2M added over 7,000 square feet of industrial space last year in Malvern, Pennsylvania, with the acquisition of Medical Technical Services Inc., a medical device manufacturing company. That facility is now used to make custom instruments for surgeons.
